Jane died on August 19, 1999, in Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, BC from acute leukemia and the resultant pneumonia, at the age of 67.

She had fought the disease for over three years and managed to reach her 40th wedding anniversary. Her mother, Dorothy, died at the age of 81, and her father James C. Williams at 103, so she was taken from us much too soon. Her spirit, her sense of humour, and her love are sorely missed.

Surviving her are her husband Gerry in White Rock, her four daughters and sons-in-law, . Elizabeth and Dan Brownrigg, Helen and John Kittler, and Hilary and Mike Forge in Calgary, and Anna and Peter Diemer and three grand children, Matthew, Andrew and Jennifer, in Toronto. In England she is survived by three sisters, Priscilla Griffiths, Anne Williams and Jill Hunter, and her brother James F. Williams in Scotland.

At Jane's request, the family will hold a memorial in Calgary at a later date.

No flowers, please. A donation to cancer research or a hospital would be appreciated.

Special thanks to the nursing and medical staff at Vancouver and Peace Arch Hospitals, and the nurses who came to her at home.
