Thomas H. Clark, 73, died at his home in Norwell after a lengthy illness on Sept. 28. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Patricia (Greene) Clark. Mr. Clark was born in Omaha, Neb. to the late Virden and Dorothy Clark. He spent many summers of his life at the family home on Quivet Neck. During the war years, he and the family lived on the Cape. He attended high school in the Dennis-Yarmouth schools. In 1942, he and his sister Carol were aircraft spotters at the Aircraft Warning Tower set up in East Dennis. He was professor emeritus at Northeastern University. His teaching career lasted 48 years and touched many lives. He was a Boy Scout master for 11 years. Like his ancestors who were East Dennis sea captains (Hall), he was an avid sailor and spent many summers sailing the coast of New England from Nova Scotia to Cape Cod. He loved music, played the flute and sang in several choirs including the United Church of Christ Norwell Choir and the Choral Art Society. He performed "The Robin Dance," a Native American dance celebrating the arrival of spring, for many groups. He loved poetry and spent many hours describing his adventures in rhyme. Besides his wile, he leaves two sons, Norman of Merrimac and Andrew of Northborough; two daughters, Letitia Kirk of Old Lyme, Conn, and Lisa Keefe of Norwell; two sisters, Carol C. Hunt of Aurora Shores, Ohio and Mary A. Doerr of Alexandria, Va.; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Quivet Cemetery, South Street, East Dennis on Dec. 26, at 3 p.m. and to join the family for a gathering at the family home on Center Street, East Dennis afterwards.
