Lowell “Gene” Sherrell, 65, of Grain Valley, Missouri, unexpectedly passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at his farm in Henry County. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 29th in Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, AR.

Gene was born February 11, 1953, in Batesville, Arkansas, the son of Darrell Lowell and Mary Alene (Blankenship) Sherrell. He was a 1971 graduate of Truman High School. Gene retired from BNSF Railway as a Terminal Signal Engineer after 39 years of loyal service. He attended the First Baptist Church of Grain Valley. He was an avid deer hunter, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Gene was preceded by his parents. His survivors include his wife, Janie Sherrell; son, Brandon Gene and wife Krista; three grandchildren: Jackson, Rylan, and Rivington; three step-children: Stacy, Daniel, and Shelby and husband Taylor; two brothers: Randy and wife Karen, and Russell and wife Kim; and nieces, Lori Jo and Jordan.
