Jack Bennett Carter passed away December 21 2018.

Born in Pike County, KY, he was the son of the late Albert C. and Elsie Thompson Carter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Minnie Webb Carter. Surviving are daughter Mary Carter Berrios and grandson, Ryan Berrios.

Mr. Carter served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a maintenance mechanic at Calgon Corporation and bred Polled Hereford cattle. He was a lifelong member of Green Hill Lodge # 521 Free & Accepted Masons of Kentucky and was a Scottish Rite Mason. He enjoyed woodcarving and was a member of the Piedmont Wood Carvers Club. A devoted Christian, he was instrumental in establishing Garner Baptist Church in Rush, KY where he served as Deacon and attended Clearview Baptist Church in Travelers Rest, SC. In retirement, he and wife Minnie, enjoyed homes in Flat Rock, NC and Titusville, FL, finally settling in Greenville, SC to be near his grandson, Ryan.
