Mary Jennifer Baggett, (born Mary Jennifer Carter) 57, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018 while in Mercy hospice care at her brother’s home in Fort Smith. Family members helped attend to her needs.
She was born in Fort Smith on December 23, 1960.

Raised in a musical family, Mary began singing professionally as a teenager. She performed in Houston and regionally in Arkansas with various bands including Mountain Wind, and with her brother, Dale Carter in 5 PM and Carter-Hobbs. Over the years, Dale and Mary combined their talents as a duo or combos that featured
original tunes and unique interpretations of songwriters. Mary worked also as a studio musician in Tulsa and Fort Smith. She is included in the Fort Smith Old Town Hall of Fame with Carter-Hobbs.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Jody Carter.

She is survived by her three children: Jessica Silva, Robert Terbieten and Paden Baggett as well as three grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.
Mary is also survived by her siblings, Brooks Carter (Pat) of Salt Lake City, Utah; Joan Culpepper (Rick) and Dale Carter (Annie) of Fort Smith; and Daisy Eubanks (David) of Fort Collins, Colorado.

The funeral service is Friday, December 28 at 3 p.m. both at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
