Goldie (Barlowe) Condrey, 93, of Asheville, died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Mission Hospital.
Born in Watauga County, NC, she was the wife of the late Clarence G. Condrey, and the daughter of the late Oren J. and Lizzibelle (Williams) Barlowe. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: Omer, Ercel, and Lawrence Barlowe.
Goldie was a member of Biltmore Church. For many years, she kept children in her home so their parents could work. For over 30 years, into her 80’s, she was a member of the Asheville Alemanders Square Dancing Club.
She is survived by a son, John Condrey; a daughter, Dorothy Brott and her husband David; 2 brothers: Frank Barlowe and Amberse Barlowe and his wife Pat; 2 sisters: Edith Hollifield and Frances Dillingham; 5 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
