"Russell E. Price, age 87 of Fremont, Michigan passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Russell was born on December 18, 1931 I Kenton, Ohio, to Russell C. and Hilda E. (Kimmel) Price. Russ attended and was graduated from the University of Michigan with a Business Degree in 1953 and later graduated from Wayne State Law School in 1958. In 1953, Russ joined the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War. Russ was married to Margaret G. Atkins on August 20, 1955 in Detroit, MI and they moved to Fremont in 1964. Russ started working at Gerber Products Company in the labor relations department, then opened the Fremont Branch of Landman, Latimer, Clink and Robb Law Office until opening his own private practice law office in Fremont. Russ was a 4th generation lawyer and had practiced law for 50 years until his retirement at the age of 80. Russ was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Fremont where he served on the Vestry and sang in the choir. He was active in community organizations including - serving on the Fremont School Board; member of Ramshorn Country Club; Fremont Rotary where he was song leader for 34 years; also served on the Fremont City Zoning Board and was an attorney for the Newaygo County Road Commission. Russ was an avid U of M football fan and attended football games for over 50 years, enjoyed playing golf and enjoyed playing the violin.
Russ is being remembered by his wife, Margaret; his children, grandchildren and great grandchild - John (Dina) Price of Chicago, IL and their children, Caroline and Charlie Price; Mary Jo (Ted) Koppenaal of Zeeland and their children, John (Ashley) Koppenaal; Mark Koppenaal; great granddaughter, Aubrey; his brother, William B. Price of Centreville, Maryland; his niece, Chandley Price; his nephew, Ben (Corina) Price. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Price.
