After her retirement Harriet and Lyle traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States visiting family and friends. Harriet was a founding committee member of the West Central community outreach program "Our Place." 31 years later this program is still operating and serving the West Central area. One of her greatest joys was watching her "boys" (the Gonzaga basketball team) play. She was their number one fan, even going to Las Vegas every year until the age of 90.
Harriet was dedicated to her family and nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by friends and family. Harriet leaves a legacy of love to all. She was known by many names - mom, grandma, Oma and friend.
She is survived by her sister, Billie Kenney; and her seven children - Randy (Claudia), Brian (Joan), John (Karen), Lucy Weidert, Helen Hughes, Theresa Stiner (Gaylin), Mary Thomas; 23 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, sons Craig and Karl Scott, grandchildren Nichole Stiner, Jimmy Hughes, Jared Scott, sons-in-law Sgt. Tim Thomas, Rich Weidert and Bruce Hughes and daughter-in-law Connie Scott.
