Charles Delmar Hamm, age 85 of New Bloomington, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Marion General Hospital.
Charles entered into this world on December 3, 1933 to the late Lorren and Goldie (Blevins) Hamm in Greenup, KY. On September 1, 1956 in Greenup, KY, he married the late Edith “Tessie” Blevins.
Charles served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired after being a painter for 35 years for Sycon. He loved working on vehicles. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Edith (Blevins) Hamm; his five brothers, his five sisters and two grandchildren: Kimberly Hamm and Ronald Norris.
Those who will cherish his memory include his sons: Charles T. (Phyllis) Hamm of New Bloomington, OH, Tim (Tammy) Hamm of Marion, OH and Bill (Terrie) Hamm of Marion, OH; his daughter: Joann Hamm of Marion, OH; his brothers: Larry (Janet) Hamm of Marion, OH, Ernie (Rose) Hamm of Marion, OH and Preston Hamm of OH; his sisters: Janice (Rick) Cox of Galion, OH, Brenda Summers of AZ and Ethel (Steve) Wormell of Columbus, OH; his thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
Family and friends may come to honor Charles’s life on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 starting at 12pm at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Cox officiating and the Marion County Veterans Council to close with a military service. Burial will follow service at the Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. Donations may be given in care of the funeral home in Charles’s memory.
