John Harris Shearer, Jr., 85 of Little Rock, passed away December 20, 2018. He was born in McCrory, Arkansas to John Harris Shearer, Sr. and Nana Lucile Frey Shearer, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Holland Shearer; cousins, Shirley Harlin and Tommy Frey, as well as a host of friends, church family, and extended family on his wife's side.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for 48 years. He was a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts of America, a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Arkansas Razorback Club. Harris enjoyed watching sports. He graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College in 1955, now known as UCA. He spent 50 years in Insurance administration.

Special thanks to all his caregivers, especially Heather Mistric and Antoinette Loudermilk.

Services will be held on Wednesday, December 26 at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 10:00, at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Rev. Roy P. Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.
