Mrs. Annie Mae Ellis, age 91, passed away October 29, 2016 at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. Mrs. Ellis was a member of Free Cannan United Methodist Church where she sang in the Choir. Her children; Robert Earl Davis, John Lee Davis, Benji Annette Lumpkin, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Strong (Fred), Gainesville, FL; siblings, Ada Houston, Jacksonville, FL, Ida Johnson, Atlanta, GA, Herbert Pelham (Genthel), Juanita Camps, Lisa Coleman (Alfred), Rosanna Patrick (Rev. Clifford), Susan Williams, all of Gainesville, FL, ten grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and eighteen great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Ellis will be held, 12:00noon, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Philadelphia Baptist Church, Rev. James Ramsey, Pastor, Rev. Frankie Thomas, Officiating; burial will follow in Free Cannan Cemetery, Waldo, FL. Arrangements entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc., 18 N.W. 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL.
Mrs. Ellis will repose in the Chestnut Memorial Chapel Friday, November 4, 2016 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm. The Family will receive friends on Saturday at the Church from 11:00am until the hour of Service. Family and friends are asked to meet on Saturday at the home of her sister, Ms. Susan Williams, 4727 N.W. 105th Lane, Staghorn Subdivision, Gainesville, at 10:00am to form the cortege. In lieu of flowers, the Family asks that contributions be made to Free Cannan United Methodist Church, Waldo, FL.
