Opal Shelton, 72, of Stuart, VA died on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.
She was the daughter of Dorothy Rogers Bateman and Andrew Clay Bateman.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Richard Lee Shelton.
She was a dedicated member of New Haven Baptist Church in Floyd, VA, worked with her husband Richard at R.L Shelton Trucking in Stuart, VA. She was a loving housewife, mother, and grandmother. She devoted her life to serving others and the Lord she loved.
Surviving is her husband, Richard Shelton of the home; one son, Jody Robert Shelton of Stuart, VA; one sister, Susan B Collins of Claudville, VA; four grandchildren: Jonathan Shelton, Matthew Shelton, Justin Shelton, Brittany Martin; and special friends, Everett and Kathy Nelson.
The funeral will be held at Norris Funeral Services Chapel on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at 2:00 pm with Reverend James Cockram, Reverend Rickey Rogers officiating and remarks by Everett Nelson. Burial will follow at Patrick Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Norris Funeral Services Chapel.
