He was preceded in death by his parents, Rupert Tuttle and Leotta Taylor Hardesty; sister, Dorothy Ellen Dyess; brothers, Albert Wendell, and John Tuttle Hardesty, Norwood never married and is greatly loved by a treasure trove of nieces, nephews and great nephews.

I knew and played foot ball with him as he was beginning to play in fact I always played left tackle, from the 8th grade to the 12th grade. This is now illegal but my 8th grade teacher was the Coach and he insisted I play.
In fact Ed Willis played right tackle for 4 years and Norwood was hi relief for the last couple of yearsand Alex Copeland was my relief. Wallace Connor played Full Back for the first couple of years I played.
