He was the salutatorian of the Allentown Central Catholic High School Class of 1940 and a graduate of the Allentown Business School. William was employed by Everson Electric in their Indoor Sales Department for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Catherine of Siena. William was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he was wounded on July 4, 1945 and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was an avid bowler and was the captain of his bowling teams. William enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors: Sons, Dennis A. and his wife Joan of Elverson, Berks County, Darryl J. and his wife Dianne, Donald F. and his wife Donna all of Allentown; brother, Joseph Biggs of Allentown; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Lillian Briggs.
Services: 1:30 P.M. today in the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. 274 North Krocks Road, Allentown. Call 1:00 – 1:30 P.M. today in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
