James S. Ball, Accountant, Dies in McLean
Masonic Leader and University Teacher Was 68
James Stuart Ball, 68, active lodge man of McLean, Va., died yesterday at his home there.
Mr. Ball was educated in local and North Carolina schools. A certified public accountant, he was a member of the firm of Ball, Blum & Co.
He taught courses in accountancy at the Y. M. C. A. college and Southeastern University.
Mr. Ball was a charter member of Sharon Lodge of Masons of McLean, Va.; secretary of the unit from its beginning in 1917 until 1919, and again from 1920 to 1925. He also served as master of the lodge in 1935. He also was past district deputy grand master of Virginia Masonic District No. 54.
In addition Mr. Ball was an honorary member of Concord Lodge of McLean. He was active for many years in St. John's Church, of McLean.
Survivors are three sisters, Miss Sallie Ball, Mrs. Carrie Mackall and Mrs. Mary S. Gilmore, all of McLean, and a brother Francis M. Ball, of Los Angeles.
Funeral rites will be a 2 p. m. tomorrow at St. John's Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Falls Church.
