Mr. Gerald Rogers, age 77, passed away at 8:36 AM on December 16, 2018, at his home in Fayetteville, Georgia. He was born in Madisonville, Tennessee to Roy and Laverne Rogers on October 21, 1941. He was married to Margaret Belcher Rogers on February 24, 1962, celebrating almost 57 years together. They have three children: son, Tony Rogers and his wife Nicole of Newnan; son, Greg Rogers of Senoia; and daughter, Tanya Bourque and her husband Chris of Sharpsburg. They have five grandchildren: Sami, Lili, Mali, Joseph, and Ian Bourque. Gerald is survived by his siblings, Jim Rogers and Lana (Larry) Gibby; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Wanda Rogers and brother, Don Rogers

Gerald served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. After serving his country, he worked for Southern Airways/Republic/Northwest Airlines for 38 years and retired in 2003. He became a member of Second Baptist Church of College Park in 1965 which was later known and relocated to McDonough Road Baptist Church in Fayetteville for over 53 years. Gerald was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather who loved the Lord and loved to help others.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 4:00 PM at McDonough Road Baptist Church, Fayetteville, with Dr. David Chancey and Dr. J.W. Wallis officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 2:30 - 4:00 PM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, you may give to Southern Grace Hospice, 384 Racetrack Road, McDonough, Georgia 30252.
