Dale Ryan, a loving man devoted to family, church, friends and community, passed away December 19, 2018.

Born at home, October 26, 1934 to Arminda (Rigg) and Virgil Albert Ryan, near Edinburg, IL. Dale married Judy Kurek June 16, 1956 and they shared 62 years together.

Dale retired from Illinois Bell/AT&T after 40 years. He spent many years tutoring adults at Common Place and children in Peoria Public Schools.

He volunteered at Friendship House, Habitat, Building Together and “Look, it’s My Book!”

At First Baptist Church in Peoria, he served on several boards, taught Sunday School, mentored High School Youth and took a large group of them on a mission trip to Central America.

He enjoyed refinishing furniture and had a booth at 3rd Sunday Market in Bloomington for many years.

Dale is survived by his wife, Judy Ryan; two sons, Philip Alan Ryan, David Andrew (Jody) Ryan; one grandson, Duncan Ryan and one granddaughter, Kelly Ryan.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 11 A.M. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at First Baptist Church, 411 W. Lake Ave., Peoria, IL 61604, with the Reverend Dr. Robert Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Church.
