Obituary Mr D.J.Abercrombie
The Death Occurred on Saturday Of Mr David John Abercrombie Who Was Manager
Of The Brisbane Branch Of The Commercial Banking Company Of Sydney For 26 Years.
Mr Abercrombie Was 76 Years Of Age, He Was Born In Sydney And Entered The Service
Of The Bank At The Age Of 14 Years And Remained In It For 53 Years. He Was Stationed
In Various Branches Through Out New South Wales And Was Appointed Manager Of The
Brisbane Branch in 1889. He Retired in 1915, But Still Took An Active Interest In Business
After Becoming A Member Of The Brisbane Stock Exchange. He Resided At Lapraik Street,
Clayfield. The Funeral Will Take Place This Afternoon.
