Jewell Geneva Jones passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County in Cookeville, Tennessee. She was born Tuesday, April 19, 1921 in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late Levi Preston Randolph and Hallie Belle Welch Randolph.
Jewell loved to garden, cook, sew, and most of all she loved her family. Her life was an example of Proverbs 31, the virtuous woman. She was the foundation and cornerstone of her family. She loved Eastwood Baptist Church where she was a Charter Member. She will always be remembered for loving everyone around her and wanting to be their caretaker. Her reputation for baking chocolate and butterscotch pies will long be remembered.
In addition to her parents, Jewell Geneva Jones was preceded in death by: her husband, Horace Jones; son Leroy Jones; daughter, Janice Chaffin; grandson, Stephen Jones; three brothers, Herbert Randolph, Hubert Randolph and Johnny Randolph; sister, Mary Heard.
She is survived by: daughter, Sandra Eldridge and her husband, Butch of Algood; son, Randy Jones and his wife, Jan of Cookeville; daughter-in-law, Helen Jones of Cookeville; son-in-law, Larry Chaffin of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Jeff Jones and his wife Stephanie, Terry Chaffin and his wife, Stacy, Lisa Eldridge, and David Bowling and his wife Katie, all of Cookeville; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
