George worked as Logistics Manager and an Appliance repairman. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. George was a member of St. Joseph Church in Milton where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was on the Ways and Means committee. Earlier, he was the Sponsoring Committee Chairman of the Boy Scout Troop 134, a Little League Coach in Stewart Manor, NY, and the President of the Sewanhaka Football Booster Club. George was a 3rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. In his retirement, George volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He liked building miniature houses and he replicated a miniature St. Joseph Church. He also built model railroads. Mostly George loved spending time with his family and he especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren.
He is survived by a daughter and son in law, Tracy and Allen Treibley of New Columbia; a son and daughter in law, Stephen and Susan Hogan of Doylestown; Grandchildren, Tammie Thompson, Timothy Treibley, Taylor Treibley, Stephanie Hogan, Samantha Hogan and Stephen Hogan Jr. and a great grandson, Emmett.
George was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Hogan Jr. and his sister Evelyn Walters.
Friends and relatives will be received from 6:00-7:30 PM on Wednesday, December 26 at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St. Milton. A Christian prayer service will follow at 7:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday December 27 at St. Joseph Church, 109 Broadway, Milton with the Rev. John D. Hoke officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Milton.
