Daryl Joe (Danny) Moore, 70, passed away at his home in San Antonio, Texas on December 16, 2018. Danny was a proud patriot and veteran of the US Navy and US Army reserve as well as a beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. All who knew Danny know that he enjoyed telling a good story which usually involved tales of his service on the USS Blue, his youthful shenanigans or his family. We will all miss those stories and the sly chuckle that followed each tale, but we know Danny is chuckling even more now that he is in the Lord’s arms. Danny is survived by his two children and their spouses, Daryl Joe II and Tamara Moore, Christie Lou Ann And Scott Williams; six grandsons, Ryan Moore, Joseph Moore, Aaron Moore, Matthew Moore, Liam McWhirter and Aidan McWhirter; three “bossy” sisters and their spouses, Charnann and Ronnie Cox, Sandra and Tom Collard and Sheila Moore, his brother-in-law, John Wayne Hickman, his “cuz” and friend, Winstead C. Hatcher, III and his mother-n-law, Willie Mae Sherwood as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Daryl has joined in Heaven his loving wife, Janice Moore, his sister, Cheryl Gay Moore Hickman, his brothers, David Moore, John Moore and Jeffrey Moore, his parents, JC Moore and Lou Ann Moore Parks, and his grandparents, Otto and Thelma Naasz. A viewing will be held for Danny at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Tx on January 4, 2019 from 10: 30 AM – 12:30 PM followed by a graveside service at 1:30 PM at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Disabled American Veterans.
