Services for Margaret Louise 'DeJean' Ramsey, 92, of New London will be at 3:00 pm, Friday, December 21, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel in Overton with Reverend Romney Scott officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Overton City Cemetery.
Margaret Louise DeJean Ramsey passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 in Tyler. She was born March 30, 1926 in Alto to the late Joseph Ashton and Evy Hooks DeJean. She was a homemaker who sacrificed for her family and viewed them as her biggest achievement. She spent most of her life loving and taking care of others. She also loved baking cookies with the grandkids, playing card games, especially poker, gardening, fishing, hunting arrowheads, picking wildflowers, traveling and searching for seashells on the beach. The legacy she leaves behind continues on in the special memories she created with everyone she loved.
Besides her parents and siblings, Margaret was preceded in death by her first love, Cody Ramsey, her son, Lanny Ramsey, a grandson, Jamie Hieronimus, three sons-in-law, Ikey Murphy, Dude Hieronimus and James Middleton, as well as her second love, Alvin Pounders.
She is survived by her children, Linda Ramsey, Sara Finley, Judy and Ronny Gaudet, and Jody Ramsey, all of New London; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Matt Murphy, Corey Bobbitt, Chance Ramsey, Josh Brantley, Darrick Middleton, Cody Brantley, Cody Hieronimus and Drew Cranford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronny Gaudet, Bobby Cranford, Keith Cole, Shane Mitchell, Jeff Dillman, Kevin Fleming and Tony Eastwood.
