Honey was an ambitious woman and hardworker. She pursued modeling at the Earl Wheeler Modeling School. She worked as a switchboard operator for five years at the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport. In New York, she was a Claims Examiner for Union Labor Life Insurance Company and retired from the New York City Department of Education, Teacher’s Retirement Office. Honey earned her Associates degree from the Culinary Arts Institute and also attended the Business Technical Institute for IBM programming and the Marketing Institute for Bookkeeping.
Honey loved the Lord and served wherever she could. While in New York, she was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and served on the Senior Usher Board Ministry. When she returned home to Clairton, she immediately reinstated her membership to Morning Star Baptist Church, where she chaired both the 98th and 99th Morning Star Baptist Church Anniversaries, and helped with the Kitchen Ministry and Junior Usher Board.
Survivors include her son, Darius (Kawaki) Bradford of Clairton, PA; step-son, William (Stephanie) Bradford, Jr. of Brooklyn, New York; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sister, Emma (Willie) Anderson of Clairton, PA; companion, William B. Bradford, Sr. of Clairton, PA, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, distant family and friends.
Friends will be received Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm in Morning Star Baptist Church, 307 Shaw Avenue, Clairton, Pennsylvania, where services will be held on December 24, 2018 at 10:00 am with Rev. John Knight officiating.
Interment will follow in the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
