Funeral services for Gloria C. Haynes, age 68, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Wedowee will Rev. Ken Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Wedowee City Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, December 21, 2018. Ms. Haynes will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday.

Ms. Haynes passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham.

Survivors include: two daughters, Christi Kirby and Dana Milstead (husband, Chuck), both of Wedowee; five grandchildren, Jacob Cofield, Chandler Milstead, Avery Milstead, Lyndsey Benefield, and Anna Kate Benefield; one sister, Gayle Hill (husband, John) of Easley, SC; and one brother, Al Haynes (wife, Carol) of Wedowee.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Daniel, Tim Haynes, Dennis Haynes, John Hill, Thomas Rollins, and Ken Walls.

A Roanoke native, Ms. Haynes was born on October 19, 1950, the daughter of Chandler and Nell Hadaway Haynes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wedowee and retired from Wedowee Hospital and Tanner Primary Care of Wedowee. Ms. Haynes was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Benefield Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
