Surgeon. Best known for his lavish and ornate sarcophagus within the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn, Glendale, California. Dr. Sanborn was a native of Tilton, New Hampshire, the son of Daniel Sanborn and Augusta S. Hoyt Sanborn and the brother of Miss Helen L. Sanborn of Franklin, Mass. In 1900, he worked as Assistant Surgeon at Willard State Hospital, Willard, New York, and later practiced in San Francisco until his retirement in 1933. In 1933, he moved to Los Angeles and lived at the California Club.
