Linda was born on October 27, 1936, the daughter of Harley and Wilma (Humphreys) Lorenson, in Mineral, IL. She graduated from Mineral High School with the class of 1955. Linda was united in marriage to Irvin E. Flint on June 26, 1955, at the Mineral United Methodist Church. Irvin preceded her in death in 1987. She worked on the family farm in rural Mineral, alongside her husband, Irv, for many years before the couple founded their own disposal business, “Irv’s Disposal” in Mineral. She also worked at Brave Industries in Annawan, Hyster Corporation in Kewanee, and the Prairie View Nursing Home in Princeton. Linda loved having coffee and wine with her best friend, Shirley, and also enjoyed gardening.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters; Cathy (John) Rosenberry, of Prophetstown, Sally (Edward) Melendez, Susan Flint, Kimberly Flint, Regina (Keith) Petersen, all of Mineral; seven grandchildren, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Michael, Jill, Jeffrey, Tyler, and Trever; six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Brandon, Ethan, Jonathan, Beckett, and Elliott; two brothers, Roger (Betty) Lorenson, of Mineral, and Rodney (Sally Dix) Lorenson, of Colfax, WI; and longtime companion, Ron Childs, of Mineral.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Wilma, and her husband, Irvin.
