Richard was born on June 2, 1935 in Gillsburg, MS. He is the son of the late, William “Bill” Lawson and Midian Hughes Lawson.
Richard was a retired Dairy Farmer and a member of the Gillsburg Baptist Church. He was a hard worker and faithful to his church. He was an avid “Saints” fan; he enjoyed studying about WWII and loved his dairy farming.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wesley Lawson and William Lawson and one sister, Nelda Lawson.
He is survived by his wife of fifty four years happy years, Kathleen “Kathy” Creel Lawson, two sons, Mark Lawson and John Lawson (Amy); two daughters, Leslie Lawson her fiancé, Stan and Janet Lawson Manning (Michael); two sisters, Barbara Bayhi and Billie Jean Lawson; two grandchildren, Nina Lyn Wilson and Jasmyne Lawson with numerous nieces and nephews.
