Bertha Mae (Sanders) Payne, age 100, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Sunday morning, December 16, 2018. Bertha was born in a farm home in Guadalupe County, Texas. She married James Sanders June 16, 1938 and they had one daughter, Delois Ann. James passed away in January 1964. She married Oliver (Butch) Payne in 1966 and moved to Arizona. They were married until he passed away in 1973. Bertha is survived by her daughters, Delois (Vicki) Warncke of Seguin, Texas and Bonnie Windsor of Scottsdale, Arizona. She has 4 grandchildren: Shari Soefje, Jim Burdick, Ryan Windsor and Kayla Windsor. She also has 4 Great grandchildren and 6 Great-Great grandchildren. Bertha was a member of Cross in the Desert United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a member of Eastern Star for 68 years. Services will be held in Seguin, Texas on Friday, December 21st. Visitation will be at Goetz Funeral Home, 713 N. Austin Street, Seguin, TX from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at San Geronimo Cemetery.
