Born in Machias Sep 14, 1931, the daughter of Kendall and Azeltha Snyder, she had resided in the area most of her life.
On May 24, 1952, she married Franklin D. Dieter, who predeceased her in Oct 1996.
Louise had worked for the Armor Meat Plant, and for many years at Sivco Furs of Canisteo. She was a member of the Canisteo American Legion Auxiliary. Louise was most well-known for her "Famous Cookies," hosting Halloween and Easter parties in Adrian for the kids, collecting and selling raffle tickets for anybody in need, and helping anyone she could. She also enjoyed gardening, dancing and karaoke.
She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin; and a sister, Ruth.
She is survived by her mother, Azeltha Snyder, of WA; three sons, Michael (Jeanine) Dieter, of Canisteo; Frankie "Pat" (Paula) Dieter, of Hornell, and David (Linda) Dieter, of Canisteo; two daughter, Christina (Randy) White, of Horseheads, and Brenda Freas, of Canisteo; 11 grandchildren; 13 g-grandchildren; four brothers, Edwin, Richard, Robert and Roy; five sisters, Eloise, Marlynn, Vernan, Rosezelta and Regina; several aunts, nieces and nephews; her lifelong best friend, Wanda Bush; and good friend, Lois Stage.
The family will be present from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tue at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo, where funeral services will take place 11 am Wed, with the Rev. Donald Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
