Howard Hermon Sims of Booneville, MS went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 16, 2018, at the age of 85 years.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, the love of his life, Nellie Marie (Russ) Sims, and his children Diane Sims Eannarino of Arcata, CA, Debby Sims Halbert of San Jacinto, CA, Tonya Sims Moore and husband Mike of Booneville, MS, Tina Sims Nutter and husband Phillip of Hernando, MS, and Michael Sims and wife Beth of Thompson's Station, TN. He also leaves eleven grandchildren: Braden Brawner, Michael Henry Eannarino, Will Eannarino, Ciel Eannarino, Sam Eannarino, Travis Halbert, Chelsea Graham, Jarett Nichols, Hannah Nichols, Ryan Sims, and Jacob Sims, as well as six great-grandchildren.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents Henry Howard Sims and Wilma (Hall) Sims of Rienzi, MS, and his son-in-law Michael Eannarino of Arcata, CA.
Howard adored his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather and for his kindness toward others, his faith and dedication to his church family, and his sense of humor. He loved woodworking, exploring the countryside in his camper, and a good steak. As a proud serviceman of the U.S. Air Force, he loved his country. He was an engineer by trade and could often be found at home, or the homes of his children, friends, and neighbors, working with his hands to create, build, and repair anything that was needed.
Visitation services will take place at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville, MS on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Lebanon Baptist Church.
Funeral services will take place at Lebanon Baptist Church in Tippah County, MS on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Corinth, MS.
