Don was a family man and his hair was always perfect. He was known and loved by many, many people. He had a great compassion for people and was always the life of the party. Don’s interests included watching sports, travel, rodeo and indulging in ice cream. He was an avid follower of St. Mary’s High School and University of Mary athletics. Don married his high school sweetheart, Sandra E. Dukart in 1958, and raised 5 rambunctious children together.
Don was born March 23, 1938 to Emma and Isadore in Dickinson, ND and graduated from Model High School. He served in the National Guard for 8 years, worked for Frontier Airlines for 27 years and for the Burleigh County Sheriff’s Department for 12 years.
Don will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Sandy; children Perry (Stacey), Becky (Darwin Leier), Pat (Tracey), Dan (Sue); grandchildren Megan, Allie, Shane, Nicole, Kaden, Mariah, Casie, Cheyanne, Jace, Noah, Jill, Tana, Kim and Drew; great grandchildren Isaac and Simon; siblings Gladys (Lyle), Leonard (Vera), Izzy (Kate) and Jim (Jo Lynn).
Don was preceded in death by his son Tom and stillborn daughter Mary.
