Obituary for Richard ""Jack"" Fitzgerald
Richard Paul “Jack” Fitzgerald, II

CASPER - Jack passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Life Care Center with his Casper family at his side.

The oldest of five children, he was born in Imperial, NE on November 5, 1938 to Dr. R.P. “Dick” and Eloyde Fitzgerald. The family moved to Casper where Jack was raised. He graduated from NCHS in 1956. For many years, he worked at the First National Bank of Casper, which later became First Interstate. His employment was interrupted when he enlisted in the US Army. While stationed in Baltimore he met and married Joan Rushford. Though they later divorced, they exemplified the type of people they wanted their children to be; by being able to say "I love you" one last time prior to his passing. After retiring he enjoyed working at Lou Taubert's Ranch Outfitters in the tack department.

Jack was passionate about Wyoming, family, history, horses and rodeos.

He is survived by his daughters, Shelly Gipson, Vancouver, WA, Lisa Cutrell, Casper, WY, and Kelly Rae (John) Juran, San Diego, CA; sisters, Sheila Rulli and Patsy (Mike) O’Hearn; brother-in-law, Frank Tanner; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian; his parents; brother, Barry and wife, Anita; sister, Mimi Tanner; and brother-in-law, Joe Rulli.

Services will be held at the Veterans Cemetery and at a later date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the 12-24 Club.
