Bertha V. (Eagle) Thornton, 98, of Pottstown, widow of Edward C. Thornton, passed away on Friday at Sanatoga Center. Born in Pottstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Horace Eagle and the late Clara (Rothamel) Eagle. Bertha was a presser at the former Pottstown Shirt Factory for many years. She was a member of the Sanatoga Fire Company Ladies Auxillary, loved crafts, working in her yard, coloring pictures, playing bingo, and her blue Buick car.
She is survived by several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by two infant sons, and twelve brothers & sisters.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday December 21, 2018 at St. Paul's (Old) Cemetery, Amityville. Officiating will be Reverend Barry Moyer. There will be no viewing.
