Larry Harold McGee, 83, of East Brainerd passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018.

Born in McMinnville, Larry moved to Chattanooga at the age of 12.

He was a former Supervisor with Retail Credit Company (now Equifax) in the Chattanooga Office and in 1969 joined the advertising staff of the Chattanooga Times working as an Account Representative before moving in the role as Manager of National Advertising of the East Division of Retail Advertising.

He retired from the Chattanooga Times Free Press as a major account representative after 27 years of service.

Larry was a member of Tyner United Methodist Church where he served on the Administrative Board, was a Past President of the United Methodist Men, and a member of the Margaret Pennington Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Northeast Camp of Gideons International and Brainerd Masonic Lodge #736.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Iris McGee; sister, Dinah Wanamaker; brothers-in-law, Grant Craven and Joe Kinser.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Rose Ellis McGee; son, Marty (Dr. Laurie) McGee, Ringgold, GA; daughter, Kelly Davis, Boynton Beach, FL; grandchildren, Will (Cindy) McGee and Katie (Asten) Sullivan, both of Ringgold, GA, Josh McGee, Marietta, GA and Christopher Blevins, Ringgold, GA; great grandchildren, Grady Sullivan, Josie Sullivan, Avery Rose McGee and Madi McGee all of Ringgold, GA; sister, Carla Craven, brother, Dennis McGee; brother-in-law, Wade Wanamaker all of McMinnville, TN; sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Kinser, Marietta, GA and Joyce (Phillip) Kolbe, Port Charlotte, FL; several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Glenn Moseley and Rev. Charlie Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Will McGee, Josh McGee, Asten Sullivan, David Cooper, Joe Kinser, Jr., Mark Griggs, and Wade Wanamaker serving as pallbearers.
