Wanda Rae George, 89, of Burlington, died at 4:15 PM Sunday, December 16, 2018, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born December 13, 1929, in Sperry, she was the daughter of William and Daisy Wagner Johnston. She was married to Wesley Cone for 20 years, together they had one son, Dudley. On May 25, 1973, she married Lewis George in Galesburg, IL.
Wanda taught 2nd grade in Middletown for 28 years and then finished her career teaching 4th grade at Sunnyside Elementary in Burlington for 4 years.
She earned her Bachelor's from Iowa Wesleyan and Her Master's Degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Wanda enjoyed cooking, being outdoors, family gatherings, fishing, traveling, going on cruises, and listening to music. She loved animals, especially her Corgi, Billy, but most of all, Wanda loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, parents and brother, Wayne Johnston.
