The services for Dorothy "Nell" Purifoy Green will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.at Riverwood family Funeral Service in Brookhaven.There will be a visitation on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.and again on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Easthaven Cemetery. Dorothy "Nell" Purifoy Green, 89, passed away December 15, 2018 at Golden Living Center in Brookhaven, MS.One of thirteen children, Nell was born on December 18, 1928 to the late Linfield and Tenie Lea Purifoy.She married Grady W. Green, Sr. in 1948 and they were married until his passing in 1983.During high school, she began working for Bell Telephone Company and continued to work there for almost 20 years.In 1965 she opened her own business, Answerphone of Brookhaven, which she owned and operated for 20 years.After retiring she became a live-in companion for elderly ladies for 14 years. She touched many lives ina very special way throughout her life and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grady W. Green, Sr.; and a grandson, Adam Duncan.Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Grady W. Green Jr. (Trudy) and Mike Green (Melanie) both of Brookhaven;daughters, Rebecca Hart (Tom) of Bogue Chitto, Nelda Duncan (Dale) of Horn Lake, and Debbie Headley (Mark) of Madison;and a brother, Bob Purifoy of Savannah, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sunnybrook Children's Home, 222 Sunnybrook Rd. Ridgeland, MS 39157; www.sunnych.net.
