Michael Leung, 50, of Portsmouth, RI, passed away suddenly on December 16, 2017 in Sasebo, Japan. He was the husband of Jeanean (Bodeau) Leung with whom he shared 27 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Kwok Shun “John” Leung and Yim Shen “Cindy” (Moy) Leung, he had resided in Portsmouth for the past 10 years.
Michael was a graduate of New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School and actively involved in class reunions and fundraising.
He proudly served in the United States Navy for 24 years, retiring as Sonar Technician Chief Petty Officer. He recently worked for Mikel, Inc. as a Senior Electronic Technician.
Michael enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters, Stephanie Leung of Bristol, RI and Courtney Quinn and husband Nick of Tiverton, RI; a sister, Jadine Leung of Willimantic, CT; a brother, Richard Leung of New Bedford; two grandchildren; two nieces; and a nephew.
Arrangements in care of the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. His Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 9am followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, 765 Prospect St., Fall River.
