Bentley, Caroline Bessie "Meme" Bentley, 88, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, in Granbury. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 22, at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial will be Thursday at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas. Meme was born Aug. 18, 1921, in Midlothian, to James Thomas Fuller and Bessie Browning Fuller. She married Wilburn Edward Bentley in 1968 in Oklahoma. She was the first female barber in Dallas and owned several different shops. She was a member of Fairview Assembly of God Church in Dallas. Preceding her in death were her husband, Wilburn Bentley on Jan. 21, 2008 and a daughter, Docia Hughes on Dec. 17, 2007. Survivors: Daughter, Carole Cockerham and husband, Darrell, of Granbury; granddaughters, Cheryl Murray and husband, Jeff, Lynn Terrell, Christine Merritt, Shelly Tongate; and great grandson, Reed Murray.
