Donna Faye Whitaker, age 76 of West Van Lear, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at the Paintsville ARH Hospital. Born October 25, 1945 in Paintsville, Kentucky she was the daughter of Vernon and Aralie (Spradlin) Whitaker. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters: Karen Whitaker and Arlene Votra; one brother, Richard "Skip" Whitaker; three brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, one niece, two nephews, and three great nephews.
She is survived by four sisters: Patsy Williams of Amboy, Indiana, Vickie Shell of Peru, Indiana, Bonita (Chuck) Malott of Peru, Indiana, Anita (Keith) Spears of West Van Lear, Kentucky; one brother, Kenneth Whitaker of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister-in-law, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
Donna loved God, her family and her Kentucky Wildcats. She studied the bible nearly daily and could quote stories and their meaning from memory. In life, Donna lived between Indiana, Tennessee and Kentucky. She had an overwhelming love of people and wanted to always be in the lives of her many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 1:30pm in the chapel of the Phelps and Son Funeral Home with Steve Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 29 from 5:00-9:00pm and on Thursday after 9:00am until time of services at 1:30pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps and Son Funeral Home.
