Passed away peacefully, at Nithview Home, surrounded by the love of family on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the age of 70.

Beloved husband of Nancy (nee Thedorf) McKinley for 44 years. Loving father of Mark (Cindy) and Michelle McKinley (RJ Brown). Dear grandfather of Rebecca, Owen, Joel and Tyler.

Dear brother of Evelyn Clark and Linda McKinley.

Predeceased by his parents Milton and Verna (nee Sherritt) McKinley and brother Arthur.

John enjoyed his work as a heavy equipment operator and retired from the City of Waterloo in 2009. He loved the outdoors and especially, gardening, camping, fishing and hunting.

John's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 7-9 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467 and will continue from 10-10:45 on Wednesday. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception.

Private cremation to follow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of K-W would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
