Danny Lee Parker, 71, of Charlotte, died Friday, December 14, 2018 in Lansing, after a brief illness. Danny was born December 11, 1947 in Charlotte, the son of Charles and Maybell (Myers) Parker. He graduated from Charlotte High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army and proudly serving during the Vietnam War. Upon his return he worked 25 years for A.E. Hoover before retiring and serving as a nursing assistant for the Eaton County Medical Care Facility. Most recently, Danny worked over 20 years for Olivet College. He was a charter member of the Woodland Eagles. In 2015, Danny married his longtime companion, Edward Castle. Danny's skill in crocheting led him to create many beautiful afghans, which he would often give as special gifts to friends and family.
Danny is survived by his spouse, Edward Castle; daughter, Shay (Ron) Dennison; son, Doran (Darcie Raynor) Parker; grandchildren, Anthony J. Parker, Samantha Cripe, Zachary Dennison, Landen Parker, Braylen Parker, Mavin Parker; brother, Ricky (Patty) Parker; sister, Vickie (Gary Williams) Carter; and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Sharon Bryner.
