David A. Tillery, 62, Rockford, died Sat., Feb. 7, 2009, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born Dec. 11, 1946, in Alton, the son of Donald and Ada (Waters) Tillery. He worked as a mechanic for FS Farm Services for 10 years, he then owned and operated his own body and mechanic shop known as "Dave's Garage." He began a family operated woodworking and manufacturing business that included building cabinetry for English Mark Darts. He enjoyed spending time and talking with his many friends and family. He especially looked forward to family gatherings at holidays and reunions.
Survivors include mother, Ada (Waters )Tillery; sons, David (Barb), Dan (Mary); daughter, Diane (Jeff) Wishop; brothers, Stephen (Katherine), Dr. Jeffry (Cheryl) Tillery; sister-in-law, Cheryl Tillery; 11 grandchildren; his children's mother, Gayle (Lamb) Staley. Predeceased by father, Donald Tillery; and brother, Michael Tillery.
