Harold Ellis Rhodus - July 7, 1929 - December 4, 2018. Harold Ellis Rhodus, 89, of Fredericksburg, TX, and formerly of Baton Rouge, Slaughter and Prairieville, LA, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018, after a brief stay at St. David's Hospital in Austin, TX. A private burial service was celebrated on Friday, December 7 at Sandy Creek Baptist Church (Zachary, LA) with Pastor Tim Norris officiating. Transportation and burial arrangements were under the direction of Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. A native of Pike County Mississippi, Mr. Rhodus graduated from Southwest Mississippi College before enlisting to serve his country in the Korean Conflict as a Fiirst Lieutenant in the U.S. Army's field artillery. He returned to his beloved wife and moved to Baton Rouge, working in and managing a number of local stores, until his retirement. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Don Ray Schmieder of Fredericksburg, TX; son and daughter-in-law Keith and Michal Rhodus of St Pete Beach, FL.; four grandchildren, Sandy Mowery, Stephanie Lujan, Stephen Granieri and Nicole Bonora; six great-grandchildren, Aniecia Hicks, Cerriana, Robert and Nevaeh Lujan, and Giavanna and Joseph Bonora; and one great-great grandchild, Addiena Hicks. He was preceded in death by Zelma Rhodus (to whom he was married for 55 years) as well as both siblings, Donald Rhodus and Irene Rhodus Kennedy.
