BG (Ret.) Patrick W. Harrison
Franklin - Age 91. Preceded in death by son Patrick Michael Harrison, Survived by wife of 69 years, Marilou McKinnon Harrison; daughters Suzanne Harrison and Elaine Harrison. Grandson Michael Harrison; granddaughters Claire Elizabeth Small, Alexis Kirby (Chris); Rachel Slowey (John); Ana McCormick (Alec Rowe); great-grandchildren Sydney, Avery and Jacob Kirby; Greta, Noelle and John Slowey, Piper Brooklyn Rowe; daughter-in-law, Beth Harrison.
A native of Nashville, Pat was born in North Nashville at home on Kirk St. September 14, 1927. He graduated from North High School in 1944 at the age of 16 and entered the Navy two months later at the age of 16. His aircraft carrier was in Tokyo Bay during the signing of the surrender, Sept. 2, 1945. Marilou and Pat were married Christmas Day, 1948 at Ft. Sill, OK. He graduated from MTSC in 1951 and was commissioned a 2nd Lt. having been a member of the first ROTC graduating class. Following 4 years active duty and 36 years in the National Guard, he retired as a Brigadier General. He was in the banking business for 40 years and retired as Executive Vice President and General Manager of retail banking for both Sovran Bank/Central South and Sovran Financial Corporation/Central South. He founded and was President of Sovran Life Insurance Company. He served as Chairman of the Board of Trust of the Tennessee Bankers Consumer Credit School which he co-founded and served as Chairman of the Board of the Middle Tennessee Credit Bureau. He was a volunteer for the last 7 years at St. Thomas Hospital.
Military service at the Rotunda, Middle Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery, McCrory Lane, Danny Stewart officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Fakie Bracey, John Wade, Denny Tittle, Dr. Subhi Ali and Paul Darden.
