Willie D. Gibson age 92 of Alcoa passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living.

He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Opelika, AL. He was a graduate of Troy State University in Troy, AL and was employed with Uniroyal Co. in Detroit, MI and Opelika, AL. Willie was a veteran serving in the US Air Force during World War II and in the Merchant Marines during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and worked at the Robert Trent/Grand National Golf Course.

Preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Allie Gibson; brother, Vernon Gibson.

Survived by his wife Allie Kate Cox; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jeanette Gibson of Alcoa; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Reed Lutz of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Stephanie and Brad Pesterfield of Alcoa, TN, Jamie and Michael Bradshaw of Maryville, TN, Jeff and Orlena Lutz of Denver, CO, Heather and Oliver Kersley of Denver, CO, Ryan and Izaura Lutz of Houston, TX; great-grandchildren, Braxton Pesterfield, Zachary Bradshaw, Azlan Lutz, and Luke Kersley.

Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Graveside to follow at 1:00 PM at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Gilbert Harris officiating.
