Born October 6, 1950 in San Diego, California, Mr. Carpenter was the son of the late Richard Newton and Lorraine Riley Carpenter. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and retired from the Department of Natural Resources as L.E. Sergeant of region 5. Mr. Carpenter was a captain of the Richmond County Fire Department in Augusta, GA.
Survivors include his wife, Stali Carpenter of Camilla; five daughters, Terica Davenport & husband, Earl, of Hephzibah; Karen Black & husband, Mike, of Cottondale, Fl., Kellie Carpenter & Troy Moore of Appling, Jessica Edwards & husband, Clifton, of Doerun, and Hope Bridges of Camilla; four sons, Sgt. Timothy Carpenter of Augusta, Sgt. Jared Carpenter of Covington, Jack "J. J." Bridges, Jr. of Camilla, and Dustin Bridges of Camilla; one brother, Jeff Carpenter of Brooksville, Fl.; an aunt, June Stevens; nine grandchildren, Linda Black, Kayla Davenport, Aaron Chastain, Eddie Black, Casey Chastain, Kristina Davenport, C.J. Edwards, Zachery Moore, and Raevan Edwards.
Visitation will be 10 -11 a.m., Saturday, June 14, one hour prior to services at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Albany Community Hospice, 2332 Lake Park Drive, Albany, Ga. 31707 or DeSoto Trail Regional Library, 145 East Broad St., Camilla, Ga. 31730.
