She was born December 13, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio to Daniel and Helen (Rarie) Brubaker. Jean grew up in Dayton where she graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 1961. She then went onto further her education at Eastern Montana College in Billings.

Jean was united in marriage to John Ford on December 27, 1965 in Billings, Montana. Five children were blessed to this union: Suzanne, Edward, Morgan, Mary Beth and Kate Lynn. From 1965 to 1973, the family lived in Omaha where John finished Medical School.

In 1973 the family moved to Lexington, Nebraska where John joined Plum Creek Medical Group. Jean stayed busy raising her children and doing the bookkeeping for the Ford Farms Partnership. They lived in Lexington until 2001 when they purchased a farm south of Oconto where they still reside.

Jean was a member of Nebraska State Quilt Guild, which she won the Golden Thread Award in 2000. She was also active in the Plum Creek Quilters Guild, Bridge Club and Tri County Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering and spent many years at the Red Cross Bloodmobile, served many funeral dinners throughout the years at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church and helped at the Lexington Middle School lunch room for four years.

Jean enjoyed spending summers at their cabin in Montana, fishing and hunting with John. She loved to travel overseas to Europe, Africa, New Zealand and Great Britain. She enjoyed going antique shopping and Jean had a passion for quilting. She also loved attending her children and grandchildren’s activities.
