Born in Watertown, South Dakota, he was the son of the late John F. and Gale Steele Stephens. He proudly served in the United States Army in South Korea during the Vietnam Era. He graduated the University of South Dakota and went on to earn his MBA from the University of Scranton. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a facility manager for the Diocese of Scranton and also served on the Boiler Commission from National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors.
Also surviving are sister Linda Taylor and husband David, South Dakota; brother John and wife Tish, Florida; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and interment in Cathedral Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave. Scranton.
