White, Captain Maurice Gene, age 94, of Madisonville, formerly of Stuart, Florida, passed away 4:20 P.M. Monday, December 10, 2018 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II, Korean & Vietnam Wars. Member of the Masonic Lodge in Stuart, Florida. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Dayton, a Master of Education Degree from the University of Miami and a Master of Science Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Also a graduate of the General Line School and the Armed Forces Staff College. During his 34 years in the Navy, he has faithfully served many commissions and was on 7 ships, with the last one as the Commanding Officer on the USS FECHTELER.
