Born March 18, 1939, in Mt. Eden, Kentucky, to Howard and Maudie Pearl (Mattingley) Peak, she married John Wesley Henderson, Sr. on July 1, 1954. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, John Wayne (Donna) Henderson, Jr.; two daughters, Debra Lynn Garrison and Mary Beth (Roger) Landrith; eight grandchildren, Andy Freeman, Heather Roberts, Christina Henderson, Tamie Martin, Amy Lawson, Amanda Hall, Ryan Henderson and Adam Landrith, Sr.; one brother, Gilman (Carol) Peak; one sister, Rose (Tom) Buchanan and her close friend, Phyllis Wright.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Bob Erps; one grandson, Timothy Buchanan and one brother, Thomas Peak.
Bonnie was a member of Gethsemane Church in Pekin. She was a devoted Christian and loved her God. She was the rock of her family. She was a former member of the San Jose Christian Church.
She was a country musician from 1957 to 1972 and had Bonnie Lou and the Blue Notes. Her first job was at A&W Rootbeer stand. She also had worked as a beautician, a nursing home aide and at Unclaimed Freight. She last worked at the Lincoln Developmental Center in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
